simply put: I have failed 😦
well technically I still have time but I doubt I will be able to finish what I was aiming for :/
I am of course talking about my baking plans. RIP 😦
but while I haven’t stuck to that plan I have baked other great things πŸ˜€
I did bake brownies(with marshmallows to experiment) and a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for mothers day πŸ™‚
so it really doesn’t feel much like failure πŸ™‚
but you it’s just a technicality ;D

yes, my friends, I am making french toast! one dish I can cross off my checklist! πŸ˜€

yes, i just put it in the fridge to soak overnight. now i am not to happy about the ingredients change. see my father has this health thing about low-shit food—>SOO….instead of milk, half and half was used. instead of eggs, eggbeaters egg whites were used. and instead of sugar, splenda was used. Splenda people, SPLENDA!!!! -_-

anyways we’ll see how it turns out. i’m just glad i’m actually sorta on track for my goals! XD

okay peeps here we go!! the french toast was amazing!!! we used raisin cinnamon bread so it was even greater!!! XD

when we put it in the oven it was gorgeous! it puffed up so much and it smelled wonderful!!

once it cam out of the oven, we let cool down a bit: just enough for it to depuff back into the pan. Then we cut it up and poured yummy, gooey syrup all over it. AND EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER πŸ˜€

So I figure if I want to bake more, I should try and plan my baking. So I am listing the different goodies I want to make πŸ™‚

yes this does seem extremely daunting but I can do whatever I put my mind to πŸ˜€

about the french toast: this recipe is famazing!!!! I mean before today, my mom made french toast by frying it and not baking it :0 maybe thats why I never liked it lol πŸ™‚

so here is the goal: finish these recipes within 4 months (thats one recipe per month in case I start to get lazy lol). but ideally I would like to finish between 2 and 3 months πŸ˜€

So the adventure starts πŸ˜€

1/20/10: I have succeeded in making bacon brownies. However, the quality is not what I imagined it to be. I thought it would have some nice sweetness with a little smoky bacon flavor.Β In a way it did turn out like that. The changes can probably be attributed to the fact that I used semi-sweet chocolate instead of unsweetened because the grocery store didn’t have any unsweetened. So, going along with the recipe, I used 1 and a 1/2 cups of sugar. That and the semi-sweet chocolate and the additional sugar led to some very sweet brownies.

If I had used unsweetened chocolate or if I had cut back on the sugar, I am sure the recipe would have produced some very magnificent brownies. Instead, the bacon flavor was drowning in the sweetness. Yet, you could still detect it.

I can explain myself though!! As any good upstanding person would have done, I ATE IT!! πŸ˜€ (with my friends) πŸ™‚ so yeppers. but they were great and I reccomend giving them a try. πŸ˜€
